A Fort Campbell soldier assigned to the 101st Airborne Division died Wednesday in a training accident. According to Fort Campbell Public Affairs, the accident occurred around 2:00 Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say the soldier was taken to Blanchfield Army Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The soldier’s name will not be released for 24-hours while family is notified.
The unit was conducting routine training when the accident occurred. There were no other injuries in the accident. No other details have been released about the incident.
