Paducah residents that live near the Barkley Regional Airport need to be aware that an emergency drill will be held on Saturday, June 23rd beginning at 8:00 AM.

Airport officials say that personnel, along with participants from city, county, and state agencies will be participating in the drill. An estimated 50-100 people will be taking part in the exercise that lasts until 1:00 PM.

The purpose of this full-scale mock exercise is to test the effectiveness of the Airport’s Emergency Plan and is required by the FAA to occur every 3 years. The drill is being conducted in coordination with fire, rescue, law enforcement, emergency management and medical organizations.

Residents around the airport should expect to see fire trucks, helicopters, ambulances, and law enforcement vehicles engaged in Saturday’s exercise.
