Storm Debris Cleanup Could Take Several Days

It could take several days for city crews and volunteers to clean up debris in the wake of the EF-2 tornado that touched down Saturday night in Hopkinsville. City Street Superintendent Dave Herndon is encouraging drivers to be on the lookout for crews that will be cleaning up the next few days.

Herndon says crews will focus on cleaning up what was blown off buildings.

He adds volunteers are welcome.

Herndon said the damage was worse than he initially thought.

Storm damage was noted at the Pembroke Road intersection with the Breathitt Pennyrile Parkway, along Fort Campbell Boulevard and the area behind Kroger at the intersection of VFW lane and Marie Drive and near Eagle Crossing apartments on Calvin Drive.
