Murray Bank Presents Check To Murray-Calloway Endowment

The Murray Calloway Endowment for Healthcare recently received a nice financial boost, thanks to The Murray Bank. The bank presented a $20,000 check to Murray Calloway Endowment for Healthcare for naming rights for the half marathon. In addition to this donation, hospital officials say The Murray Bank also donated an additional $5,000 towards the physician lounge renovation at the hospital. This is year one of a potential multiple year commitment for $25,000 annually towards the race, in which all proceeds support the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House. Hospital officials indicate this donation from The Murray Bank and support of their Board will bring the total donation towards the Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice to $145,000.

The Murray Calloway Endowment for Healthcare’s annual Murray Half Marathon will be held Saturday, April 14 and will mark the eighth anniversary of the event. The Murray Bank has acquired naming rights for the half marathon, which officials say is the longest running half marathon in western Kentucky. The Murray Bank is independently owned and operated since opening in 1999, with two location in Murray and a recently opened office in Hazel.

Runners interested in participating in the half marathon may sign up at www.MurrayHalfMarathon.org. Hospital officials say several discount levels are offered based on how early the participant registers. Course information and other important details are also available on the site.
