Two Injured In I-69 Hopkins County Wreck

An adult and juvenile were injured in a two vehicle rear-end collision on Interstate 69 in Hopkins County. The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office says the wreck occurred at the 177 mile marker around 12:10 Wednesday morning.

Deputies report a preliminary investigation determined 62-year old Martha McKnight of St. Charles was driving southbound and was slowly veering over into the left lane when her car was hit in the rear by a vehicle driven by 57-year old Kathy Simms of Providence. Simms reportedly did not see McKnight's vehicle veering over into the left lane, due to rainy weather conditions.

McKnight and her juvenile passenger were transported by ambulance to the emergency room at Baptist Health Madisonville.
