Area Roads Remain Slick And Treacherous

State and local road crews will be out in full force again Saturday to make as much progress as possible before cold temperatures set in tonight. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District One and Two spokesman Keith Todd says the wind caused some problems in the overnight.

Todd says major thoroughfares are passable, but the roads are still in pretty rough conditions.

Todd says officials are asking people to stay off the roads if possible to allow road crews to make better progress.

He adds they hope to make as much progress as possible today before the colder temperatures arrive.

Road crews in most area counties and for the state went to a standby mode in the overnight hours to allow them to get some rest. They are all out working again today to continue clearing roads.
