Multiple Crashes On Interstate-24 Friday Afternoon

Emergency personnel have been out all day working minor crashes and motorist assists where cars have run off the road. Around 3:30 Law Enforcement were called to a crash on Interstate-24 at the 91-mile marker involving multiple vehicles. Listener Duane Hohenstein was traveling eastbound when it happened.

Kentucky State Police Trooper Billy Over was investigating a single vehicle accident that had struck the cable barrier on I-24 eastbound at the 91-mile marker. While investigating the accident, a Nissan Rogue traveling eastbound lost control in the middle of the roadway causing a domino effect. Several vehicles traveling in the eastbound lanes were unable to stop, striking one another.

The operator and passenger of the Nissan Rogue were the only people injured in the accident. They were transported by EMS to Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville, KY, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The eastbound lanes are currently closed and are estimated to re-open at approximately 7:00 P.M.

At the same time, a multiple-vehicle crash reportedly occurred in the westbound lanes near the 89.5-mile marker, just before the Oak Grove/Pembroke exit.
