Man Charged With Wanton Endangerment After Disturbance Call

A disturbance call led to a Hopkinsville man being charged with wanton endangerment Thursday night. Hopkinsville Police say officers were dispatched to a home on Gilkey Drive, but when they arrived there was no one at the residence. However, later in the shift the female, officers say the victim came to police headquarters and stated that during an altercation with 25-year old Zachary White grabbed the steering wheel while she was driving and said he was going to kill her and the kids if she told police. The victim said she swerved and went off the road into some grass near Edgewood Baptist Church.

Police say the victim then stated she had exited Eagle Way Bypass onto the Pennyrile Parkway ramp when White again grabbed the steering wheel, causing her to go off the road again before merging onto the parkway. She told police she though White was going to kill her and her kids.

White was taken into custody around 11:50pm and lodged into the Christian County Jail for 1st Degree Wanton Endangerment.
