A Trigg County native officially filed to run for Sheriff in the county where he grew up. Jason Barnes filed his paperwork at the Trigg County Clerk's office Tuesday morning among family and friends. He says being Sheriff of Trigg County has always been his dream.
Barnes indicates he has more than a decade of law enforcement experience.
If elected Sheriff, Barnes says first and foremost he will provide 24/7 coverage in the county.
Barnes is married and has two children and a grandson. He is running as a Republican and will face-off against Sheriff Ray Burnam, also a Republican, in the May Primary.
