Area Senators Filing Critical Legislation

Two Senators from the Southern Pennyrile say while they are waiting on a pension bill, they are introducing legislation they hope will become law. Both Senators Stan Humphries and Whitney Westerfield say they introduced familiar legislation during the first week.

Senator Westerfield, who represents Christian, Todd and Logan Counties, says he is hoping this will be the year for Marsey's bill.

Westerfield says he is also working on adoption bill to clear some red tape for adoptive parents.

Senator Humphries, who represents Trigg, Lyon, Calloway, Graves, Carlisle, Hickman and Fulton Counties, says he plans to introduce a bill that stabilizes funding for TVA Counties.

Both say they have heard very little about the Pension and Budget because that discussion will begin in the House of Representatives.

Comments from both legislators can be heard Sundays during the Legislative Update on 96.5 and 100.9 WHVO following the Noon News Edge.
