KWW Annual Meeting & Auction


Kentucky Western Waterland held their annual meeting and auction Monday night at Ken Lake State Resort Park. Several awards were presented, information about the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers coming to this area, and a slide show of the upcoming World Equestrian Games to be held in Kentucky September 25 through October 10, were on the agenda.

Bowling For Kids' Sake was held in Princeton on Saturday - thanks to everyone for helping make this event a huge success!

Home Show 2010


There was a great crowd for the 2010 Home Show that  was held at the James E. Bruce Convention Center over the weekend. There were seminars on planning for retirement, gardening and landscaping tips, and great door prizes were given away on Sunday.  (Full Gallery)

101ST SUSTAINMENT BRIGADE PREPARES FOR DEPLOYMENT


Mar. 4: The 101st Sustainment Brigade at Fort Campbell has deployed 4 times since 9/11/2001 and almost always has a company deployed in support of the nation's War on Terrorism.  Take an in depth look into how they train to clear houses, like infantry men, and how they perform their normal duties make sure supplies get where they need to be.

New Jobs in Princeton

Bridal Expo 2010


Beautiful dresses, accessories, cakes, limos, and everything you could possibly need for the perfect wedding were on display at the 2010 Bridal Expo on Saturday at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

2010 Heart Walk

Tractors Fill The Parking Lot at TCHS

HERNDON BUSINESS DESTROYED BY FIRE THIS MORNING


Feb. 25:  Knockum Hill Bar-B-Que was destroyed by a grease fire this morning around 8 o'clock.  Four local fire departments responded and were on the scene for over two hours. Click to see pictures from Herndon.

2010 Polar Plunge


The 2010 Polar Plunge to benefit special Olympics Kentucky was held Saturday, February 20, at Kentucky Dam Village. It was the first time a Polar Plunge has been held in this area, and it was a huge success with over 145 people taking the plunge into Kentucky Lake.  Duncan Wiggins represented Trigg County with donations totaling over $1100 - more than $27,000 was raised!

HOPKINSVILLE CELEBRATES MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR DAY 2010


Adults and children alike marched from the Walnut Street Center to Mount Olive Baptist Church Monday to commemorate Martin Luther King Junior and celebrate his legacy.  Click to see pictures from the march and service.

Mack Cunningham Road House Fire


Trigg county emergency personnel responded to an evening house fire on Mack Cunningham Road around 5:30.  The house reportedly belongs to Brandon and Kelly Fowler.

EAGLE CRUISE


WKDZ's Alan Watts was aboard the CQ Princess as it set sail Monday from Lake Barkley State Resort Park in search of eagles.  Mary Schmidt lead the tour and spotted 35 eagles with the help of many media guests. The colder weather over the weekend brought out 55 eagles on the boat tour Saturday and 50 on Sunday.
