Lyon County will be the top seeds in next week’s Fifth District Basketball Tournaments that begin Monday at Wildcat Gym.

Lyon’s boys tied with Livingston Central atop the standings with identical 5-1 district marks.  The Lady Lyons tied with Crittenden County for first place in the regular season with 5-1 records.

Lyon County (17-9) will play four seed Trigg County (5-19) Monday as the girls’ tournament begins at 6pm.  The Lady Lyons beat Trigg 31-21 and 42-26 during the season.

Crittenden County (22-7) lost the coin toss and will play three seed Livingston Central (9-16) Monday at 7:30.  Crittenden County, who set a school record for wins, beat the Lady Cardinals three times during the season, with two of the wins coming by five points or less.

The girls’ championship game will be Thursday at 7pm.

Lyon County (15-11) will also be the top seed in the boys’ tournament that begins Tuesday.  The Lyons will play Trigg County (8-17) at 6pm in a rematch of last year’s district title game won by the Wildcats in overtime in Eddyville.

Lyon County beat Trigg 50-49 in December and 58-51 in Cadiz in late January.

Livingston Central (16-12) is the two seed and will play Crittenden County (7-22) at 7:30 Tuesday.  Livingston beat the Rockets three times during the season, with their most recent win a 58-57 overtime victory.

The boys’ championship will be Friday at 7pm.

Tickets for all games next week at Wildcat Gym will be five dollars.
