Closing Ceremony Honors Service

A crowd turned out for the closing ceremony of the Cadiz Field of Flags at Tollgate Plaza Saturday morning. This is the third annual Field of Flags sponsored by American Legion Post 74. Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West Director Retired Senior Master Sergeant Richard Stanley says the Field of Flags is just one way to honor military service and the sacrifices made by service members and their families.

Post 74 Commander Charles Rockhold told the crowd that 221 flags stood in the field this year. The ceremony concluded with a 21-gun salute and TAPS. The Col. Stephen Trigg Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution were on hand to lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
