Law enforcement officials in Hopkins County say they are on the lookout for a suspect in connection with a bomb threat that resulted in a school being placed on lockdown and the highway in the area being shut down. According to WFIE-TV, the bomb threat was made against the U.S. Bank location in Hanson, and there are reports that a suspicious package or packages were found. Multiple law enforcement agencies were called to the scene, with the FBI and a bomb squad until also responding.
The report goes on to say that the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office is looking for a suspect wearing camo. Nearby Hanson Elementary School was placed on lockdown due to the threat, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet blocked off US 41 at the south edge of Slaughters and at the north edge of Madisonville. KY 260 was closed near the Outlet Mall just off the Pennyrile Parkway interchange and at the east edge of Hanson.
