Cadiz City Council member, and local businessman, Todd King is confirming he will run for Mayor in the November General Election. king told the News Edge he will make his formal announcement following the May Primary. King says he realizes he will have some large shoes to fill following Mayors Lyn Bailey, Jim Ricks, W. J. Hopson, and Scott Sivills, but wants to continue to serve.

King added he wants to not only be a Mayor for the citizens of Cadiz, but also wants to serve all the residents of Trigg County in a greater capacity. He says he will provide more details about his decision to run when he makes his formal announcement. King is currently serving his third term on Cadiz City Council. He and wife Clarissa have owned and operated King's Funeral Home in Cadiz since the business opened in May of 1999. Mayor Lyn Bailey has announced that he does not plan to seek another term in office.
