Cadiz Mayor Recognizes Community Service
Cadiz Mayor Lyn Bailey was among the mayors nationwide Tuesday to recognize the impact of service to communities during the 2nd annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service. Bailey proclaimed April 1st as National Service Recognition Day, and took the opportunity to thank all those who serve as volunteers in Cadiz.
According to information from the city of Cadiz, during 2013, 240 retired and senior volunteers served in more than 38 locations across the city, donating more than 23,000 hours. According to AARP, the investment in the community has an estimated value of more than $400,000 annually.
