Kentucky Advances To Sweet Sixteen

There were many story lines headed into the game, but the main one coming out is that the Kentucky Wildcats will be moving on to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament after knocking off the previously unbeaten Wichita State Shockers Sunday afternoon 78-76. It will likely go down as one of the best games ever in the round of 32, and was not decided until Wichita State missed a three point shot at the buzzer.

The Harrison twins along with Julius Randle had monster days for the Cats, who rallied from a 9 point deficit in the second half, and then had to hold off the tough Shockers down the stretch. Andrew Harrison ended up with 20 points, Aaron added 19 points, with James Young and Julius Randle chipping in with 13 for the Cats. Cleanthony Early totaled a game-high 31 points for the Shockers, who end up 35-1.

The Cats made big free throws and had enough defensive stops at the end to get the big win. Up next for the Cats is a Sweet 16 battle with the Louisville Cardinals, who the Cats beat earlier this season in Rupp Arena. The game will be played Friday in Indianapolis.
