Senators Westerfield And Humphries Discuss State Budget

Two State Senators from the area are working to make sure key local projects remain in the state budget that passed the Kentucky House Thursday night. Third District State Senator Whitney Westerfield and First District State Senator Stan Humphries discussed the budget during the weekly Legislative Update Program, along with State Representatives John Tilley and Myron Dossett. Senator Westerfield says he does think it is critical to make sure key local projects are in the budget.

Senator Humphries, who serves on the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee, expects the budget to undergo some changes before it is approved.

The legislators discuss the budget, school day make-up legislation, juvenile justice code reform and other issues during the weekly legislative update program that airs Sundays after the Noon News Edge on 96.5 and 100.9 WHVO and can be found beginning on Monday on the Toyota of Hopkinsville Audio Rack on WKDZ and WHVO websites.
