Another big honor for Caldwell County native Emma Talley was announced Thursday. Talley, who is the reigning U.S. Women's Amateur champion, along with NCAA winner Annie Park, are among the eight players selected to the U.S. Curtis Cup team for the June 6-8 matches against Britain and Ireland at St. Louis Country Club. Talley spoke with the News Edge about her selection.

Talley added that the experience of playing in an event of this nature should help her career on the golf course.

Talley, who is a sophomore at Alabama, also spoke about the current collegiate golf season that is underway.

The golfers were selected Thursday by the U.S. Golf Association along with Kyung Kim of Southern California, Alison Lee and Erynne Lee of UCLA, Mariah Stackhouse of Stanford, Ally McDonald of Mississippi State and Ashlan Ramsey of Clemson. Ellen Port, from St. Louis, will captain the team.
