I-24 Closed Briefly For Gas Leak

The westbound lanes of Interstate 24 in Montgomery County were shut down for a brief period of time Saturday afternoon due to a small propane leak. According to WSMV, the leak came from two rusty propane bottles that were being transported inside a vehicle. The westbound lanes were shut down between Exit 4, the Wilma Rudolph Boulevard exit, and Exit 1, the Tiny Town Road exit, while HAZMAT crews were called in to stop the leak.

The report says the people inside the vehicle were transported for treatment of inhalation of the propane. The westbound lanes were open again by 5:00pm.
