Interstate-69 Closed By Storm Damage

Reports out of Princeton indicate the storm system that blew through the area Sunday afternoon knocked down electricity transmission lines near the 80 mile marker on Interstate 69, formerly the Western Kentucky Parkway. I-69 remains closed at the 80 mile marker in Caldwell County and will likely remain closed through the night and into Monday morning. The traffic signal is back up and running at the intersection of US 62 and KY 91.

Motorists should use caution along the detour through Princeton due to increased traffic volume. The detour is being manned by KYTC personnel through the night. Utility crews continue working to repair the damaged transmission line.
