Trash Can Fire At Hopkinsville High School



Spontaneous combustion appears to be the cause of a small fire early Thursday morning at Hopkinsville High School. The News Edge spoke on the scene to Hopkinsville Principal Curtis Higgins.



Higgins noted that his custodian quickly took action and limited the fire to the trash can.


   
Higgins says the science lab and remaining rooms on that wing of the school were blocked off, with classes moved to alternate locations in the building. In addition to the trash can, Higgins says there was some smoke damage, but no structural damage to the building.
