Hopkinsville Honors Veterans With Annual Parade

Hopkinsville and Christian County officials are saying thanks to active duty military and veterans during Veterans Day and throughout the year. Christian County Judge Executive Steve Tribble read a proclaimation encouraging all local residents to thank our community's veterans.

Hopkinsville City Council member Paul Henson, who spoke on behalf of Mayor Dan Kemp, said the local community is glad to honor veterans.

Also during the ceremony Henson presented the Mayor's Jr ROTC Challenge award to Hopkinsville High School. Christian County Chamber Military Affairs Director Kensley McClellan presented the School Challenge Award to Millbrooke Elementary School.

Prior to the ceremony, veterans were saluted during the annual parade by a large crowd of sidewalk saluters. The parade also includes bands from Fort Campbell, Hopkinsville and Christian County, along Jr ROTC units from each of the schools.
