Eagle Ambassador Breakfast

The Hopkinsville-Oak Grove-Christian County Military Affairs Committee held their Annual Eagle Ambassador Breakfast Thursday morning. Keynote speaker for the event was Retired Lieutenant General Michael Oates. Oates is currently the Vice President for Army and Special Operations Programs for Lockheed Martin. In his remarks, he had praise for the local community and their support for the military.

Oates says federal budget cuts in the military will see an impact on the local community.

He said in order to be successful against wide ranging threats, we need to keep a strong military.

Awards were presented as part of the program. The Military Affairs Committee Service award was presented to the Hopkinsville, Christian and Todd County Board of Realtors. The Eagle Beaver award went to Heather Real, and the Outstanding Military Affairs Committee Member was presented to Hopkinsville Police Chief Guy Howie.
