Paducah Officer Injured



A Paducah police officer was flown to an Evansville hospital following an early morning accident. According to WPSD-TV, Officer Austin Guill was injured when a mini-van ran a stop sign a the intersection of 7th and Madison Streets, in the Lowertown area, and struck the officer's cruiser. The driver of the van allegedly fled the scene but was apprehended a short distance away.

The accident occurred just after 3:00am Wednesday morning. The report indicates that Officer Guill was transported to Deaconess Hospital for treatment of abdominal and lower body injuries.
