Traffic Restrictions On I-24 Ohio River Crossing

Those traveling between Kentucky and Illinois on Interstate 24 will be dealing with traffic restrictions for the next couple of months. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, traffic across the Ohio River is now reduced to one lane each way. Additionally, barriers will be installed next month which will restrict load widths to 12-feet, 3-inches.

Work crews will be working on the crossing, with the work expected to take about two months. Once the joint repair work has been finished, the rest of the repair at that location will be suspended until spring. Lane reductions will then resume while contractors resurface the road.
