Hopkinsville Fire Officials say a Pat Avenue home sustained major damage as the result of a Wednesday morning fire that remains under investigation.
According to the report from Captain Jon Burke, firefighters were dispatched around 12:20 to the home occupied by Mark Lewis and owned by John Whitehair located at 717 Pat Avenue, off Pyle Lane. When firefighters arrived, Lewis and the other occupants of the home were outside.

The fire was initially reported in the attic, but quickly spread through the rest of the home. Captain Burke says the home sustained an estimated 85-thousand dollars in damage. The report says the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
