Second Trigg County Fatal Tuesday

A Barbourville woman was killed and two others were flown from the scene of the second fatal accident Tuesday in Trigg County. State Police say 38-year old Martha Taylor, of Barbourville, was westbound on Canton Road, when for unknown reasons, she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with the US 68 Bypass, and pulled into the intersection, into the path of an eastbound Dodge Durango driven by 44-year old Kristena Gallimore, of Dresden, Tennessee.

The Taylor vehicle, a Chevy Cavalier, was struck in the passenger’s side.  A passenger in the Taylor vehicle, 49-year old Mary Dell was pronounced dead at the scene by Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson. Taylor and another passenger, 15-year old Jonas Dell, of Barbourville, were flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where, as of late Tuesday night, they were reported in stable condition. State Police say no seatbelts were in use in the Taylor vehicle at the time of the crash.

Gallimore, and two passengers, 36-year old Timothy Gallimore, and 12-year old Kaitlyn Gallimore, all of Dresden, were transported to Trigg County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. State Police say all three were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The accident occurred around 7:57pm Tuesday.

The crash was the second fatality accident in Trigg County Tuesday. 26-year old Leslie Paige Baker, of Cadiz, was killed Tuesday morning in a two vehicle accident on Kings Chapel Road.
