Area Resident Observes Moore Tornado

An area resident, who was near Moore, Oklahoma, when the massive tornado touched down Monday, says he will never forget the experience. Weather enthusiast Al Mason, who said he is considering a move to Oklahoma, said he saw the tornado from the parking lot of a gas station.

Mason says he will never forget the aftermath.

Mason says today there is a mixed reaction among local residents.

Mason says many of the residents are aware of the danger that is posed by severe weather, but this storm even surprised many of them.

A number of local efforts are being organized to assist victims of the Moore, Oklahoma, tornado that touched down yesterday afternoon, was over a mile wide, and remained on the ground for nearly 40 minutes.
