Accident Leads To DUI Arrest Friday Night

Hopkinsville Police say a local man was charged with DUI after an accident Friday night on Cox Mill Road. The report says 69-year old David Underwood was southbound just before 10pm near the 2600 block of Cox Mill when his vehicle ran off the road and hit a mailbox. The vehicle reportedly came to rest in the front yard at 2615 Cox Mill.

Officer Robert Stokes says Underwood admitted to drinking before driving, failed the field sobriety tests and blew a .208 on the breath test. Underwood was arrested and charged with his second DUI in the last five years. No one was injured in the incident.
