One member of Kentucky's Federal delegation has received an award for his hard work in the fight to end Alzheimer's. Senator Mitch McConnell was recently given the Humanitarian Award by the Alzheimer's Association for his work. In his speech at the the award presentation Senator McConnell mentioned the late Margaret Thatcher and her good friend former President Ronald Reagan and the devestating effects Alzheimer's had on them. McConnell pointed to the work done at the University of Kentucky and legislation in Washington that has helped research as stepping stones toward a cure for Alzheimer's. He encouraged the group to keep doing what they do and one day they will find a cure someday.
