Trigg County Drug Arrest

The Trigg County Sheriff's Office arrested a Georgia man over the weekend on drug charges after he was stopped for speeding.

Reports say 50 year old Randy Field of Augusta, Georgia was stopped on I-24 near the Cadiz/ Hopkinsville exit for speeding more than 10 mph over the limit. Deputies say he appeared drunk and smelled of alcohol. He failed several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. A search of the vehicle found an open bottle of whisky and an open beer can in a cooler in the back. Also deputies found a bag of marijuana, small baggie with methamphetamine residue, and several pieces of drug paraphernalia including glass pipes, scales, and steel wool. Field was charged with speeding, DUI, possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle, possession of marijuana, possession of meth, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
