Woman Sues Over Kidnapping

A Hopkins County woman is suing members of the FBI, Kentucky State Police, and the Henderson Police Department, alleging a coverup in the kidnapping of her daughter more than seventeen years ago. Sarah Teague is seeking a jury trial in a handwritten lawsuit filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court, in Owensboro.

23-year old Heather Teague disappeared while sunbathing on a beach on the Ohio River on August 26, 1995. The case remains open and State Police issued a plea last year for information. A suspect in the case was once identified, but shot himself as police attempted to serve a search warrant on his property.

Sarah Teague has stated authorities pinpointed the wrong suspect and have failed to follow up on leads.
