It's a sure sign that spring is almost here, as Land Between the Lakes is about to open some of its facilities for the 2013 season. Among the attractions scheduled to open Friday are the Homeplace, the Woodlands Nature Station, and Piney Campgrounds.
Two new nature viewing sites will open this year, those being Empire Point and Bobcat Point. Officials say the new sites are open during daylight hours only and offer something new every season, such as migratory songbirds from spring through fall, and waterfowl and eagles in the winter.
