School Board Approves Addition Application



The Trigg County Board of Education is moving forward with the addition to the Primary and Intermediate Schools after approving three state project application forms. During a meeting Thursday night, board members voted to send the paperwork on to the state, which outlines three different projects, that will culminate to take care of the issues at the schools.


   
Superintendent Travis Hamby says the projects could be bid together, but in case they were not, approving the separate forms now would help keep the project on track.


   
The forms estimate the total cost of the project, which includes the addition, new HVAC, and a new roof, to be a little over 4.6 million dollars. However, Hamby is confident that is a high estimate and the bids will come in lower than that.

Board Members also took the time to recognize the middle and high school students, who participated in the Kentucky Youth Assembly in the fall. The annual memorandum of agreement with Fort Campbell for the Continuity of Operations Program if it is activated was approved, as well as a memorandum with the carrier for the Trigg Arrowcats trip to Louisville in March for the state archery competition. Hamby, also, informed the board March 7 and 8 would be used as make up days.
