Two Caldwell County residents are accused of running a meth lab in their home after their arrest Wednesday morning. According to the report from the Princeton Police Department, 20-year old Jay Hicks, and 20-year old Megan Hicks were both arrested after police executed a search warrant at their residence, at 409 North Stone Street.
Police say officers conducting a welfare check developed information that the Hicks were manufacturing meth and obtained a search warrant. During their search police confiscated numerous items used in the manufacture of meth, as well as a small quantity of meth, and several items of paraphernalia. Officers also discovered a two liter bottle containing an active meth lab known as “shake and bake”.
Jay Hicks was charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Precursors, 1st Degree Possession of Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and 1st Degree Controlled Substance Endangerment of a Child. Megan Hicks was charged with Manufacturing Meth and 1st Degree Controlled Substance Endangerment of a Child. Both were lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. The couple's 13-month old child was placed in the custody of Child Protective Services.
