Business Leaders Learn About Agriculture



Trigg County business leaders learned about agriculture during their monthly Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn meeting Wednesday.Trigg County Extention Agent David Fourquean spoke on the topic of Agriculture's Impact on Trigg County. Fourquean says the amount of farmers in America has changed signifcantly since 1950.


   
The average age of farmers is now 58 years old and Fourquean says that is why farm operations continue to grow. 98% of the United States farms are family owned and operated.

The annual Ag Appreciation Dinner at the Trigg County Recreation Complex will be Tuesday, March 12th. Admission is two canned goods which will go to the Helping Hands Organization. Historian William Turner will be the guest speaker for the evening. Awards will be given to the Outstanding Youth in Agriculture, Friend of Agriculture and Ag Business of the year
