A Hopkinsville man faces charges following his arrest Tuesday after a confrontation with police. According to the report, officers were notified just after 11:00am Tuesday about a man carrying a gun, running from the Belmont area, in the direction of Durrett Avenue. When officers made contact with 19-year old Marc Cox, he allegedly raised his shirt and pulled a handgun.
While Cox did not point the gun at officers, he had to be told four times to drop the weapon. Police add that Cox resisted when they attempted to arrest him. He was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Menacing, Resisting Arrest and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
