Heritage To Acquire Middle Tennessee Bank

Despite the hard times economically one local bank is buying out a Tennessee based bank and expanding.

HopFed Bancorp the parent company of Heritage Bank announced Monday that it is acquiring Sumner Bank and Trust out of Gallatin, Tennessee. President and CEO of HopFed and Heritage John Peck says they are excited about the opportunity to partner with Sumner and gain entry into the attractive communities of Sumner, Wilson, Williamson, and Madison counties in middle and west Tennessee.

Sumner currently has two full service banking centers in Gallatin, one in Hendersonville, and loan production offices in Franklin, Lebanon, and Jackson. Officials say they hope to finalize the transaction in the third quarter of 2013.
