Three Injured In Monday Accident

Three people were injured late Monday afternoon in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of East 9th Street and College Street. Hopkinsville Police say 30-year old Darrell Maxie, of Hopkinsville, was stopped on East 9th Street, waiting to make a left hand turn onto College Street, when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by 50-year old Peggy Bassford, of Hopkinsville.

Bassford then ran off the road after hitting the bumper on Maxie's vehicle. Maxie, Bassford and a passenger in the Bassford vehicle, 51-year old Robert Jones, of Hopkinsville, were all transported to Jennie Stuart Medical Center following the accident, which occurred just before 5:00pm Monday.
