Kentucky lawmakers are scheduled to return to Frankfort this week to resume the 2013 General Assembly. Facing them will be some of the state's most pressing issues, which includes addressing the financially troubled pension plan for government retirees.
The Kentucky House is scheduled to convene at noon Tuesday, and the Kentucky Senate at 4:00pm. Lawmakers will remain in session through the end of March, and hope to resolve a 33-billion dollar unfunded liability in the state's pension system.
Lawmakers have said they want to put more money into pensions, but have not stated where that cash might come from.
