Cissy Lawrence-New Trigg Seniors Center Director

Cissy Lawrence will take over as the new Trigg County Senior Citizens Director when current Director Carolyn Bland retires February 28th. Bland says the announcement was made earlier this week at the Senior Citizens Center. Bland, who has served as the Director for 38 and a half years, says she is proud to turn the reigns of the center over to Lawrence.

Bland adds Lawrence will have good support in her new position.

Bland was hired by the late Roy McDonald in 1974 to run what was then called the Senior Citizens Kitchen. Bland says after her retirement February 28th, she will continue to focus on recovering from her bout with fungal meningitis.

She will join Rachel "Flash" Boddy who retired from the center Thursday.
