Officials Surveying Storm Damage

Southeastern Christian County seems to have been among the areas hardest hit by a line of thunderstorms that moved through western Kentucky between midnight and 3:00am. The News Edge's Travis Faulkner spoke with Christian County Emergency Director Randy Graham as emergency crews were surveying damage.

Several Pennyrile Electric Customers in Christian County and Todd Counties are without power due to the early morning storms. Pennyrile Electric Spokesman Brent Gilkey says crews are continuing to work to restore power.

Other damage was reported to outbuildings and farm shops on Wayne Hunt Road, along Highway 345 between the Howell Community and Boddie Road, with at least two trees blocking Fentress Lane that runs between Highway 345 and Highway 107 at Herndon. The storm also knocked a tractor-trailer off Interstate 24 just west of the Highway 41-A Fort Campbell Boulevard interchange. The News Edge's Travis Faulkner spoke with the driver on the scene.

Meanwhile Trigg County Weather Spotter Coordinator Ramona Hamilton says Trigg did not suffer near as much damage.

The Trigg County ECC says one person hit a tree that was down across Rockcastle Road near the Trigg Furnace. The Montgomery and East Golden Pond Fire Departments Responded to a house fire at 265 Adams Mill Road in Trigg County after the storm moved through, with no other details available about damage from that fire.
