It was a good start for the fundraising efforts for this year's Christian County Relay for Life over the weekend. The Hopkinsville Relay For Life Team Kick-Off Pancake Breakfast, held at First Baptist Church, raised over $1500. Each Team of Relay participants raised money by selling tickets. Tickets were also sold at the door during the breakfast. More than 300 people came out to eat and show their support for the Relay at the pancake breakfast.
There are two team fundraisers coming up in the near future. First Baptist Church will be holding a Valentine’s Banquet, in the church fellowship hall, on Saturday, February 9th, at 6:00pm. Tickets will be on sale at the First Baptist Church office, during office hours, or by calling 270-839-2860. The last day to purchase a ticket for the Valentine’s Banquet will be Sunday, February 3rd.
The second upcoming team fundraiser will be a Business Expo held by the Christian County Family Child Care Association. The event will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, from 10am-3pm at the Old Christian County Middle School. You can call Tamara at 270-889-9520 for more information, or to sign up to become a vendor.
The next Relay Planning Committee meeting will be February 5th, at 5:30pm at the Hampton Inn. Details are still forming about an all team Relay fundraiser called the Bark For Life. That event is scheduled for April 20th. More information will be released as things firm up.
