Lyon County Man Injured In Sunday Accident

An Eddyville man was transported to a Paducah hospital following a single vehicle accident Sunday afternoon in Lyon County. State Police say 47-year old Jay Newell was traveling on KY 810 North, when his vehicle left the right side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and struck a ditch and utility pole guide wire. State Police point out the accident took place on a wet road during rainy conditions.

Newell had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel. He was then transported to Western Baptist Hospital. A dog in the vehicle was not injured, and was taken by the Lyon County Animal Control Officer for short term care. The accident occurred around 1:33pm Sunday afternoon.
