US Senator Rand Paul says the Republican Party needs to shake things up and reevaluate a few long standing views in order to grow the party and take the Presidency back in 2016. Paul, who spoke this weekend near Cincinnati, says the GOP needs to broaden its appeal by softening its edge on some volatile social issues, like gay marriage, and to alter its image as the party always "eager to go to war."
He says the party is going ot have to be a little hands off on some issues to get people back into the Republican Party. Also among topics highlighting Senator Paul's agenda were foreign aid, when the country is in such dire need itself, and his strong words to outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton last week, during which he told her he would have fired her if he'd had been the boss.
