The unemployment rate for both Trigg County and Christian County saw an increase during the month of December. According to figures released Thursday, The December rate for Trigg County came in at 9.3-percent, which was up from the 7.7-percent of November, however the rate was down from the 9.6-percent of December 2011.
In Christian County, the December unemployment rate was reported at 9.1-percent, up from 8.5-percent in November, but down from 9.6-percent one year ago.
Around the Pennyrile Area Development District, every county saw its rate increase from November to December, however every county also saw its December rate lower than December 2011. Statewide, Woodford County had the lowest unemployment rate at 5.4-percent, while Magoffin County had the highest rate at 16.9-percent.
