League of Women Voters Forums

The Christian County League of Women Voters held their Primary Election Forums over the past two weeks.  You can listen to the debates by clicking on each below.

Christian County District 2 Magisterial Debate between Incumbent Edwin Long and challengers Henry Snorton and Mark Wells.


Ward 12 Hopkinsville City Councilman Phillip Brooks' opponent Derek Patterson did not show up to their debate so Brooks was allowed 5 minutes for his own comments.


Community members heard from Democratic candidates for the 1st District US Representative seat, Wesley Seaton Blevins and Charles Hatchett.


Ward 10 incumbent Jimmy Dossett debated challenger Ted Wood in the first debate of the second night of forums.

The second debate that night was between Ward 11 Councilman Wesley Grimes and challenger Steve Hoover.
Democratic candidates for Jailer incumbent Brad Boyd faced off against challenger Todd DeArmond.

On the third night of the LoWV Forums Ward 7 Hopkinsville City Councilman Buddy Oglesby debated challenger Terry Parker.

The forums heated up when Incumbent Sheriff Livy Leavell and Democratic challenger Ross Littlepage debated.

The final night of the League of Women Voters Forums started off with sparks flying between Republican candidates for Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks and Jason McCraw.


The Forums ended with Democratic candidates for Hopkinsville City Mayor Willie Kendrick and Joey Pendleton.
