Veterans and military spouses will have the opportunity Thursday to meet with potential employers from around the country right here at home, courtesy of the US Chamber of Commerce. The National Chamber Foundation, along with RecruitMilitary and Ryder, are hosting a job fair, entitled Hiring Our Heroes, at LP Field in Nashville from 11am until 3pm.
More than 40 employers are expected to attend hoping to find the right person for their job openings. Interested job seekers need to register at www.recruitmilitary.com. However, officials say walk-ins will be welcomed with proper identification.
Officials say the event is one of three to be held nationwide this year as part of the program started in March 2011. Over 14-thousand veterans and military spouses have found employment through previous fairs. The Department of Veterans Affairs, the American Legion, the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve and the Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service are also partnering to bring the event to Nashville.
