Farmers from around Western Kentucky will have a better perspective on factors that affect the soybean crop each year after attending the 9th annual Soybean Promotion Day at Murray State University Tuesday.
Nearly 300 farmers attended the event at the CFSB Center to hear from two well-known crop consultants Agronomist Missy Bauer and Consultant Moe Russell. Bauer, who is with Coldwater, Michigan, based B & M Consulting, says farmers need to keep an eye on their crops during the entire season.
Bauer, who frequently appears on RFD-TV's Corn College TV program, says they are continuing to do research on a number of different variables that can affect the soybean crop.
Also speaking during the program was Russell Consulting Group cofounder and President Moe Russell, who discussed marketing and the services his company provides to help farmers be prepared for the global market.
The 2013 Soybean Promotion Day was sponsored by the Murray State University Hutson School of Agriculture and the Kentucky Soybean Board.
